Kwan Segal, SPHR, EMBA

Kwan Segal, SPHR, is the Founder and CEO of ICAway, a human-centered cross-cultural advisory system dedicated to strengthening international student success in higher education. Through advisor development, organizational change, and cross-campus collaboration, ICAway helps colleges and universities create more coordinated, inclusive, and culturally responsive support systems for international students. With more than 20 years of experience in human capital consulting, Kwan specializes in organizational change management, leadership development, and global talent strategy. Her experience with Deloitte, Accenture, and BMW shaped her human-centered approach to helping organizations navigate change, develop leaders, and build collaborative solutions across diverse organizational and cultural contexts. As an experienced career coach, Kwan has guided more than 200 international students and immigrants representing over 30 countries across five continents through every stage of their career journey—from career exploration and internships to full-time employment and long-term career success in the United States. She has also been invited to present at more than 50 colleges, universities, and professional organizations, reaching over 1,000 students, advisors, and higher education professionals through workshops, webinars, and conference presentations. Kwan is the creator of iCEP Academy, a professional development program that equips higher education professionals with cross-cultural advising strategies to better support international students through more coordinated, campus-wide approaches. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by HRCI and holds an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and Sasin School of Management. Kwan currently serves as Co-Vice President of Student Affairs for the Ascend Midwest Chapter and is based in Chicago, Illinois.
